Adding a sub-class to the hierarchy

The sub-class is the equivalent of the product group in Sage 200 Accounts. The Add New Sub-Class window is similar to the Product Group window found in Sage 200 Accounts.

To add a sub-class

Open: Retail > Merchandise > Merchandise Hierarchy.

1. Right-click the Department or Class and select Add Sub-Class.

   The Add New Sub-Class window appears.

2. Enter the information on each of the following tabs:
   • Details.
   • Batch/Serial Numbers: This tab only appears if you have selected Items use batch or serial numbers on the Details tab.
   • Searching: You can only create search values here if you have created Search Categories in the Stock Control module.
   • Units of Measure.
   • Landed Costs:This tab only appears if you have selected to Use Landed Costs in the Stock Control module.
   • Variants: You can only select your stock item variations here, once you have completed the Dimensions Setup.
3. Click OK to add the new sub-class details to the hierarchy.
